Sun, heat

Outdoor benches get oil and marinade splatter from the grill, lemon and lime from drinks, and they are often cleaned less often than the kitchen inside. On a porous stone, oil soaks in and darkens the surface.
Exposure matters outdoors: a covered alfresco area is very different to a bench in full sun and rain. We assess every outdoor surface on site before recommending the film.

They take a lot: marinades brushed on, fat spitting from the grill, citrus from drinks, and sun and weather. Porous stones such as travertine and limestone darken quickly around the grill.
Our film includes a UV inhibitor and a 250°C heat rating. Every outdoor surface is assessed for exposure before we recommend it.

Can film go on fully exposed stone?
It depends on the exposure and use. We assess each outdoor surface and will tell you honestly if it is not suitable.
Can I put the BBQ lid or tongs on it?
The film is rated to 250°C. We recommend trivets for anything hotter, such as direct from a pizza oven.
What stones do you see outdoors?
Granite, travertine and limestone most often. See the stone pages for each.
Does a covered alfresco make a difference?
Yes. Covered areas are much more suitable than benches in full sun and rain.
